A Business Case for Lean Presentation

Thursday, June 29, 2017

11:30 AM to 1:00 PM

University Club of Memphis

1346 Central Avenue

Memphis, TN  38104

Join us to find out why owners, architects, engineers, and constructors are forging ahead with Lean. Attendees will learn how to use this compelling information as a call to action, and a way to change the project mindset for the better. They will leave the event with an understanding of how to get started, and the best way to tell the story. Learning Objectives 1. At the end of this presentation, participants will understand what owners value in design and construction and will be able to analyze and discuss how designers and constructors can close the gap between owner expectation and typical project delivery. 2. Participants will be able to identify Lean process innovations and tools that are flexible and positively change project team collaboration. 3. Participants will understand how the adoption of Lean impacts the architect's role in design and construction. 4. Participants will know when to strike down Lean and IPD (integrated project delivery) myths with empirical data when they hear myths in the field. SPEAKER: John Pemberton is recently retired VP/GM of Intel's global construction and LCI board member from 2014-2016. He has many practical examples to share from implementing lean and collaborative contracting approaches from around the globe and around the US. Intel's former VP of Technology and Manufacturing, he recently oversaw domestic and international projects as Intel's Global Construction Group General Manager. John also led the technology transfer and ramp of new products.
