ACEC Tennessee is excited to announce that we are accepting applications for the fifth class of our Leadership PE program. Our first four classes have been tremendously successful, and we are looking forward to another outstanding program this year.
Leadership PE was created to provide a unique learning environment for senior, mid-level, and emerging high-potential leaders within the Tennessee engineering community who are committed to developing their leadership and management skills. The competencies included in this customized curriculum include communication, self-knowledge, presentation skills, conflict management, political savvy, business acumen, interpersonal savvy, effective team building, and operational effectiveness.
The 2019 Leadership PE program will include an orientation in January and four additional monthly sessions held across the state. Each session will be 1.5 days with the exception of orientation, which will be two full days. We have partnered with various public agencies across the state to create a unique learning environment, including the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Valley Authority, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Leaders from these entities attend the program as active participants in the class alongside those employed by ACEC member firms. In addition to the core curriculum, sessions typically include team building activities, networking, and a tour of a partner agency facility.
Participation in Leadership PE is open exclusively to employees of ACEC Tennessee member firms and our partner agencies. Enrollment is limited, and the selection panel strives to create a class with a diverse range of experience and backgrounds, representative of the varied areas of practice and geographic location of our membership. Applications are due December 1st.
